Background information: CoaguChek

The CoaguChek device measures the coagulation of the blood using an INR measurement. High INR means that the blood is too thin and has difficulty coagulating. A low INR means that the blood is too thick and the patient could get blood clots. As you really can’t feel any change in the INR at first, it’s necessary to take P-K tests continuously.
